Review: We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson

This spellbinding and terrifyingly claustrophobic novel is a must read for horror and thriller fans alike.  Shirley Jackson’s last novel, first published in 1962 follows two sisters Merricat and Constance, whose family was murdered with arsenic in their sugar bowl. Dread Nation is an alternative history horror novel set post Civil War in America. Instead of the Civil War ending with the defeat of the South by the North, the dead rise on the battlefield and force the two sides to make peace in order to save the human race. At once provocative, terrifying, andContinueContinue reading “Review: Dread Nation by Justina Ireland”
